Spring is in the air – at least in Paris! Rahul Mishra’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection was a gauzy, floral affair, and the perfect outing for the designer’s first full collection at Paris Fashion Week.

Rahul Mishra Spring 2015 Paris Fashion Week

We’ve been watching Rahul Mishra ever since he won the International Woolmark Prize in 2014, beating out names like Altuzarra for the coveted award. This beautiful collection was sold internationally at shops like Harvey Nichols, so a debut presentation at Paris Fashion Week is a natural progression for the designer.

Named “The Ferryman’s Tale,” this collection is inspired from traditional Japanese artworks and three centuries-old Chintz textile. Intricate hand embroidery shows age-old craftsmanship in a modern graphic style (Mishra is known for supporting Indian handlooms and the Indian craft community). Geometric and floral patterns are complemented by sheer fabrics and silks, and lovely zip-front coats and dresses were mixed with flowing skirts, cropped tops and sheer capes.

His palette was simple: black and white, yellow and soft pink. Our favourite piece is the ivory top with yellow geo embroidery, paired with a sheer panel skirt.
